Obama's 'The View' appearance sets ratings record

    (ANI)

Despite all the criticism, President Barack Obama's appearance on daytime talk show 'The View' has set ratings record and has even become the most watched telecast in the ABC series' history.

According to entertainment site TheWrap.com, the episode, which screened Thursday, drew record 6.6 million viewers.

It also drew the largest number of women viewers in 17 months with 516,000 in the 18-34 age group and 1.3 million females tuning in aged 18-49.

Previously the most-watched episode of the panel show screened on November 5, 2008-the day after Obama was elected to the White House, reports the New York Post.

Although Obama had appeared on 'The View' twice before- once as a candidate and once as an author-this was the first time a sitting American president had visited a daytime talk show. (ANI)
