Washington, Feb 9 : Controversial beauty queen Carrie Prejean has got engaged to NFL quarterback Kyle Boller, it has emerged.

According to E! News, Prejean, who said she lost the Miss USA pageant after declaring she's against same sex marriage, and Boller exchanged engagement rings over the weekend.

A source told E! that it was on Saturday that Boller proposed Prejean in San Diego.

Her mom, Francine Coppola, confirmed the news to Access Hollywood. She added that Boller presented Prejean with a 5-carat diamond ring, reports Us magazine.

Prejean is "very excited," according to Coppola.

Prejean, 22, and Boller, 28, began dating last July.
