A plane has slammed into a bystander on a beach in South Carolina while making an emergency landing.

The man was killed as he was jogging along the beach when the pilot swooped in for his landing on
    Hilton Head Island.

US Federal Aviation Administration officials have revealed that the plane was halfway through a flight from Orlando to Virginia when it began to experience engine trouble.

The pilot had wanted to land at the island's airport but had to make an emergency landing on a beach after the propeller fell off.

As he glided in, he clipped the man running on the beach. Two other joggers managed to see the plane coming.

One would assume the pilot would have seen the joggers and could have ditched his plane in the water and risked his own life instead of taking someone elses. I hope he will at least be charged with manslaughter.

He couldn’t see due to oil being on his windshield.

Oil or not, if this was a person striking a jogger with their car, boat etc., accident or not, the driver is usually charged. This is just the price we pay for the privilege of handling any type of machinery.

the pilot probably tried to give the jogger a buz cut. At least the good intentions were there.
